What is dry needling IMS ?
Contrary to popular belief, IMS dry needling is not acupuncture. While the two therapies share some similarities, dry needling is based on western medical and research approaches. It is not acupuncture because it does not adhere to the same principles and beliefs.
To stimulate the tissue, your practitioner will use sterile acupuncture needles.IMS Dry needling treatments involve using a “dry” needle, which is injected into the affected area without introducing any substance into the body.
This treatment creates an environment that promotes the body’s ability to heal while reducing pain and improving movement. This treatment is thought to change how the brain and muscles communicate, allowing the system to return to a more normal movement pattern.

Is IMS Dryneedling painful?
Many people believe that dry needling IMS is painful because of the name. The vast majority of our patients, on the other hand, report little to no discomfort during and after in-office procedures.
Our highly trained IMS Dry Needling physiotherapists will make the procedure as painless as possible!
A very small percentage of patients may have an unpleasant reaction to the needle insertion, where a shortened, hypersensitive muscle will ‘grasp’ the needle in what some describe as a cramping sensation.
This reaction is similar to a brief muscle cramp and should subside shortly after treatment. In very rare cases, some soreness may persist for up to 24-48 hours after treatment. If it persists, you can treat it at home with ice or heat and plenty of fluids.
